Grand Prix Canada

F1 goes so fast that the pit stop is over before you’ve had time to set up your car…

As event photographer for the Canadian Grand Prix, I had a little unexpected side quest during the F1 weekend in Montreal.

My official assignment was to photograph the F1 VIP departments and boxes, but by the end of the first day… my entire shotlist was already checked off.

Meaning:
I still had 1 day to overdeliver and explore.
To look for details that no one had thought to document.
To find angles that even the customer hadn’t anticipated.
In short, to get the best out of the game. (pun intended)

It also gave me the chance to move up to the track.
And let me tell you, having photographed F4 just two weeks ago, moving up to F1… it’s another league.
No choice but to anticipate where the car’s going to go, because it’s not going to be waiting for you.
And with the speed they’re going, you have no right to make mistakes.

It was noisy. The world. Noise because of the people. And people because of the noise.
But no bickering on the collab side (get it?)
In such a complex event with so many moving parts, having a client who trusts you and makes your work easier… it changes absolutely everything.

Thank you to the Canadian Grand Prix for this mandate, your support, and this freedom.
