Let’s Bond’s Bal Urbain 2024 wasn’t just a party, it was a journey into another world. Every detail had been thought out to transport us: settings inspired by the Italian Coast, impressive lighting effects, and organization so impeccable that everything seemed to flow naturally.
But an evening like this isn’t just about looks. It’s also about energy. And the energy was palpable right from the cocktail party. Here, everything was happening at a breakneck pace: appetizers worthy of the best chefs in Montreal, one show after another, and even living sculptures wandering around the room. Seriously, we’d barely started and it was already next level.
With Justine Boucher and Ophélie Boisvert, my two colleagues for the evening, we knew we had to be at the top of our game. Nothing could wait. The performances, the interactions, the guests strolling between booths – it was all happening fast, and it all deserved to be immortalized. So we shared the workload to cover it all. Every click of the camera was a small victory in capturing the overflowing energy.
And then, when it came time to move into the main hall, it was even more… grandiose… Once the doors were open, it was like entering a parallel universe. The sets, the live music, the lighting effects… everything was orchestrated to impress. One performance followed another: flamenco dancers, singers and divers. There was almost no time to breathe, so much was going on, but that’s what made this evening so unique!
And it wasn’t just for the show, it was for a cause that matters: mental health. This year, the Bal Urbain raised $640,000. Seeing all the work that goes into an event like this, so many people involved for such a worthy cause, makes you want to surpass yourself too.
At the very start of the evening, we took a moment to photograph the organizing committee. Those faces full of enthusiasm and pride set the tone for what was to come. It immediately reminded me that behind any successful evening there’s always a dedicated team giving 110%, just like my team this evening, without whom it simply wouldn’t have been possible to cover the event so well…
